چکیده
The most general form of a linear continuous functional operation on a function f(x) continuous on (a, b) has been expressed by F. Rieszf as a Stieltjes integral of f(x) with respect to a function of bounded variation. By virtue of the extension theorem of Hahn,$ this result can be extended to the case where f(x) has discontinuities of the first kind on (a, b). In establishing this more general case, the modified form of the integral considered by B. Dushnik§ is used instead of the ordinary Stieltjes integral. The expression obtained for T[f] reduces to that given by Riesz when the function f(x) is continuous since in this case the modified integral agrees with the ordinary integral. The following definitions and properties enter into the statement and proof of the theorem. Let ƒ denote an element of a linear vector space S of norm ||/|| ;1I then an operation T on 5 is linear if

On Bounded Linear Functional Operations* By
The set of all bounded linear functional operations on a given vector spacej plays an important role in the consideration of linear functional operations. For the sake of greater definiteness it is desirable to know the form of such operations and a space determined thereby. This problem has been solved for a number of spaces, for instance, all continuous functions on a bounded closed interval,...

The theory of derivatives and integrals of fractional in fractional calculus have found enormousapplications in mathematics, physics and engineering so for that reason we need an efficient and accurate computational method for the solution of fractional differential equations. This paper presents a numerical method for solving a class of linear and nonlinear multi-order fractional differential ...

Let £,(<).£,(/), • • • and {(/) be random processes on the interval [0, 1], without discontinuities of the second kind. A. V. Skorohod has given necessary and sufficient conditions under which the distribution of /(C(0) converges to the distribution of /({(/)) as n -» oo for any functional / continuous in the Skorohod metric. In the following we shall consider only stochastically right-continuo...

We first show that a bounded linear operator $ T $ on a real Banach space $ E $ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively) if and only if $T': E_{mathbb{C}}longrightarrow E_{mathbb{C}}$ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively), where the complex Banach space $E_{mathbb{C}}$ is a suitable complexification of $E$ and $T'$ is the complex linear operator on $E_{mathbb{C}}$ associated with $T$. Next, we pr...
متن کاملTheory of block-pulse functions in numerical solution of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind
Recently, the block-pulse functions (BPFs) are used in solving electromagnetic scattering problem, which are modeled as linear Fredholm integral equations (FIEs) of the second kind. But the theoretical aspect of this method has not fully investigated yet. In this article, in addition to presenting a new approach for solving FIE of the second kind, the theory of both methods is investigated as a...
